Who should consider fertility testing?
Fertility testing is valuable for couples who have been trying to conceive for several months without success. It can also be useful for individuals who want to understand their reproductive health before attempting to start a family. Women with irregular menstrual cycles, a history of miscarriage or conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome may benefit from fertility testing. Men experiencing reduced libido, erectile issues or suspected low sperm quality may also use these tests. Fertility testing can inform timing decisions and guide medical advice.
People considering assisted reproductive technologies, such as IVF, may require baseline hormone assessments. Those who are delaying parenthood for personal or professional reasons may also wish to check their reproductive health to inform future planning.
Why test from home?
Home fertility testing provides privacy and convenience at a sensitive time. Women can collect samples for hormone analysis on specific cycle days without arranging clinic visits. Men can provide blood samples discreetly at home. Testing at home reduces stress and allows couples to work together through the process in a comfortable environment.
At-home testing enables monitoring over several cycles, which is important because hormone levels can vary from month to month. This longitudinal data helps fertility specialists recommend interventions, such as medication or lifestyle changes, to improve the chances of conception.
How it works
Your fertility kit will include finger-prick devices for measuring sex hormones like FSH, LH, oestradiol, progesterone , testosterone and AMH. You return the samples via prepaid packaging to the laboratory where they are analysed. Results are delivered securely with explanations of each marker and how it relates to fertility potential. You can then share the data with your GP or fertility clinic to determine next steps, such as timed intercourse, medical treatment or assisted reproduction.
